Forthcoming Events

The Parish Calendar lists the services and events at all three churches.

Christian Unity Service

Thursday 25 January at 7.30pm at St Peters

The Caversham-wide service for Christian Unity takes place at St Peters this year. The preacher will be Father Patrick Daley, the new parish priest of St Anne’s church.

Burns Night Supper

Saturday 27 January at 6.30pm for 7pm at Trench Green Hall

There will be the traditional supper of haggis, neeps and tatties, with a course of tipsy laird. This will be followed by entertainment, a raffle and an evening of Scottish country dancing. A statutory wee dram is included in the ticket price. Please bring your own selection of drinks as there is no licence. You are most welcomed to invite friends and colleagues from outside the parish but do be aware that numbers have to be restricted and tickets sell quickly.

The cost per person will be £20 and all surplus proceeds from the evening will go towards church funds. Tickets are available from Paul Corby via the Parish Office, or Libby Lowry after Sunday Eucharist at St. Margaret’s. There is ample parking in the car park adjacent to the Hall.

Dwelling in the Word

Saturday 3 February at 11am at St Peters

Every Saturday morning St Peter’s church is open from 10.30am to 12.30pm for coffee and chat or for a moment of quiet. On 3 February we invite you to join a group that will gather 11am to 11.30am in the Lady Chapel to read a short passage from the Bible, see where your attention lingers and share that with others in the group. Or come along and observe, just see what we are up to. You may be surprised what discussions can follow and there’s always that cup of coffee too.

This is part of a series, to be held on the first Saturday of each month until June: 3 March, 7 April, 5 May and 2 June.

Church Forum

Sunday 11 February at 11am at St Peters

The St Peters church forum takes place after the morning service. If there are matters you would like the forum to address, please talk to the clergy or churchwardens.

Ash Wednesday

Wednesday 14 February at 9.30am at St Peters

A quiet service to mark the beginning of Lent. This is the regular 9.30am Wednesday communion service.

Wednesday 14 February at 10am at St Johns

The St Johns mid-week service will be on Wednesday, not Thursday, this week, to mark the beginning of Lent.
