Forthcoming Events

The Parish Calendar lists the services and events at all three churches.

Entry into Passiontide

Sunday 18 March at 6.30pm at St Peters

A choral service for Passion Sunday. The music will include the Miserere by Allegri, the Lamentations by Bairstow, Psalm 121 set by Rutter, O lord look down by Battishill, and God so loved the world by Stainer. There will be readings and congregational hymns. Refreshments afterwards; all welcome.

Palm Sunday

Sunday 25 March at 10am starting at St Margarets

This Palm Sunday why not join donkeys Buffy and Solomon as they walk with the Bishop of Reading, Andrew Proud.

Everyone is invited to join the walk. All of it from St Margaret’s Mapledurham to St John the Baptist, Gosbrook Road or joining or leaving at any point.

On the way, take in the Mapledurham woods, St Peter’s Caversham, Caversham Court and Christchurch Meadows.

Refreshments and worship at each of the three parish churches and plenty of time to meet, chat and recall Jesus’ journey on a donkey into Jerusalem.

We would love you to join our journey as we retrace Jesus’ steps leading up to Easter Day, when Christians everywhere join together and cry Alleluia, He is risen!

Dwelling in the Word

Saturday 7 April at 11am at St Peters

Every Saturday morning St Peter’s church is open from 10.30am to 12.30pm for coffee and chat or for a moment of quiet. We invite you to join a group that will gather 11am to 11.30am in the Lady Chapel to read a short passage from the Bible, see where your attention lingers and share that with others in the group. Or come along and observe, just see what we are up to. You may be surprised what discussions can follow and there’s always that cup of coffee too.

This is part of a series; the remaining sessions will be on 5 May and 2 June.

Annual Meeting

Sunday 15 April at 9.30am at St Johns

Please do come and hear about the activities of the past year and our plans for the future, to elect wardens and PCC members, and to ask questions of your church council. Reports will be posted at the APCM page when they are available.
