The three churches in the parish of Caversham Thameside and Mapledurham have a long history, which you can read about on their respective pages. The documented history of St Peter and of St Margaret begins in the 12th century. The history of St John begins in the 19th century.
The parish itself is a recent creation, formed in 2010 by merging the parish of St Peter Caversham and St Margaret Mapledurham with the parish of St John the Baptist Caversham.
