Harvest Barn Dance

Friday 27 September at 6.30pm at St Johns

Come to a Harvest Barn Dance – Friday 27 September at St John’s 6.30-10pm. Folk band Inisheer and their caller will lead us a merry dance (or several) and it’s great fun. Tickets are £8 for adults, £4 children, or £20 for a family ticket, and all profits go to Churches In Reading Drop In Centre. Soft drinks provided but please bring your own food (and other drinks if desired!).

This is a great way for us to join together as a parish, and an easy event to invite friends to. Tickets available from Penny ( ☎ 07825 331810) – buy now to avoid disappointment!

Fifth Sunday Worship

Sunday 29 September at 11.15am at St Margarets

The whole parish worships together at St Margarets this morning. This will be the only service in the parish today.

Tuesday 1 October / Wednesday 2 October for 7 weeks at St Johns Vicarage

Alpha is for anyone who wants to explore ‘the meaning of life’ and questions of faith in a relaxed and informal setting. We eat together, watch a short dvd on an aspect of faith (e.g Who is Jesus? Why did he die? How and why pray?), and then it’s an open discussion during which anyone can ask anything, share anything, or just listen. Two seven week courses will run at St John’s Vicarage in the autumn: on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, and on Wednesday mornings from 10am until noon. Babies and pre-school children are welcome at the Wednesday group.

Do think and pray about coming and/or inviting friends. Contact Penny to sign up or for more details –
