St Peter, Caversham
The collect for the last Sunday before Advent:
Stir up, we beseech thee, O Lord, the wills of thy faithful people; that they, plenteously bringing forth the fruit of good works, may of thee be plenteously rewarded; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
At the morning service at St Peters on 24 November, members of the congregation mixed and stirred the ingredients for a Christmas cake, as a reminder of the good things that God gives us and the ways in which we can help others. If the baking turns out well, the cake will be shared at the 9.30am morning service on 22 December.
