The Caversham Community Café (3Cs) in St John’s Church was inspected by Reading Borough Council recently and is happy to announce that they have retained their ‘5 (very good)’ rating for food hygiene. It was a red-letter day for our volunteers in another way too: it was one of the busiest days we’ve ever had! As well as our regular customers, we welcomed people from the seated exercise group who meet in the church from 10.15am to 10.45am most Tuesdays. On Sunday 29 October, 2023, a team from Churches Together in Caversham ran their first ever united LIGHT PARTY! It offered an alternative celebration to Halloween, allowing families to choose to come and celebrate light and remember our call to shine as lights in the world for God's glory (Matthew 5: 16). St Peter’s latest priest, Revd Catherine Radcliffe (second from right) was ordained by the Rt Revd Olivia Graham, Bishop of Reading, at St Mary’s Minster on Saturday, June 24, along with Revd Carol Atkins of St Agnes with St Paul and St Barnabas.
