Disability access statement

St Peter

The congregation at St Peter long to extend a warm welcome to all who come to visit.

Unfortunately, until we can make significant changes to this grade 2* listed building, access for anyone with physical disabilities is limited.

More specifically:

• Entrance from the public foot path in a wheelchair is hazardous.
• Whilst standing in the entrance to gain view of this beautiful church is on a level, there are two steps down to gain access to the church.
• During the day there is no access to a toilet.
• During services access to the toilets is only via a further four steps.

We are working to address the external access difficulties with the local council and working towards a reordering of the church to allow disabled access to the majority of the building, including accessible toilets and kitchen.
