The Ride+Stride is a fun day out for all the family that raises fund for historic churches.Ride+Stride is a sponsored bike ride or walk in which people from all over the county walk or cycle between churches, exploring and enjoying the countryside from Hook Norton to Henley, Burford to Bicester. The money raised helps to preserve some of Oxfordshire’s 650 churches, chapels and meeting houses that are at risk of falling into disrepair.All three churches took part in "Ride and Stride" on September 13, 2014. We are pleased to announce that Marilyn Hanson, a member of Caversham Baptist Church, has been appointed as the new Development Worker for the Amersham Road Cooking Club.Marilyn started her part-time six month temporary post on 1st May and has already made a significant contribution to the task of promoting the cooking club to children and their families on the estate, as well as helping to plan for and run the regular monthly Sunday afternoon sessions. The Amersham Road Cooking Club is seeking to employ a development worker (15 hours p.m.) to promote the work of the cooking club which is run by local churches for children aged 7-12, and their families. On Saturday 31st August, members of the Amersham Road Cooking Club (ARCC) took part in the estate community fun day. This year the fun day was organised by the Caversham Children’s Fund, a resident-run bi-weekly fun club for children aged 6-11. Hundreds of people attended over the course of the afternoon, so it was a great opportunity to introduce people to the cooking club.ARCC were involved in two ways.
